Natalie Western serves as Director of the Student Counseling Center, supporting students across the Portland and Biddeford campuses. She earned her B.A. in Psychological Sciences from the ¸ßÇå²»¿¨¸£Àû of Vermont and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the ¸ßÇå²»¿¨¸£Àû of Colorado.

Prior to joining UNE, Natalie worked as a clinician at the ¸ßÇå²»¿¨¸£Àû of Colorado where she developed a strong commitment to counseling in higher education settings. Her clinical approach is integrative and evidence based. Natalie is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT), yoga instruction, and mindfulness techniques, and has additional training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy.

Natalie approaches counseling with curiosity, compassion, and flexibility. She works collaboratively with students to support emotional well-being, resilience, and personal growth, tailoring treatment approaches to each student’s unique clinical needs and therapeutic goals.
