Namita Khandelwal, B.D.S., M.S., assistant clinical professor in the the College of Dental Medicine, has been published in a MetLife Quality Resource Guide. These guides are used by MetLife for its dental continuing education program, recognized by the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Khandelwal鈥檚 guide focuses on the inflammatory pathology around dental implants. It outlines the risk factors and diagnostic criteria for peri-implantitis, an inflammatory process resulting in progressive loss of bone around the implant. The guide also provides treatment approaches for peri-implantitis, including surgical and non-surgical options.
