‘Mainebiz’ reports on James Sulikowski’s two latest NOAA grants

On October 9, 2015, Mainebiz reported that James Sulikowski, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Marine Sciences, was awarded two federal grants totaling more than $493 thousand from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The grants will fund Sulikowski’s research into ways of reducing the deaths of Atlantic cod that are caught in lobster traps in the Gulf of Maine and his study of combatting mortality rates of Dusky sharks that are unintentionally caught during pelagic longline fishing.
