David Livingstone Smith presents at International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Study of Biology

David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, gave a talk on July 7, 2015, at the annual meeting of the International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Study of Biology, which was held in Montreal, Canada.

Smith discussed his most recent research on dehumanization, which significantly expands the account of dehumanization that he presented in his 2011 book Less Than Human. Specifically, Smith has incorporated ideas from anthropology, psychology and philosophy to create what he considers a much more powerful account of what happens when people dehumanize others.
