College of Pharmacy alumna mentioned in 'Maine Magazine'
UNE alumna Naima Abdirhmon, Pharm.D., was mentioned in an article in the November issue of Maine Magazine for her work on the Arwo Learning Center, a child care facility that she opened on Forest Avenue in Portland, Maine.
The segment describes how Abdirhmon, a practicing pharmacist, volunteered with the Portland school department when she was a teenager and developed an understanding about the importance of introducing youths to cultural diversity. 鈥淚 saw how important it was for children to be exposed to different cultures very early on,鈥 she explained to Maine Magazine.
She took her experiences and opened the Arwo Learning Center during the summer to help share her mission with children in a preschool and daycare environment.
