UNE faculty attend workshop at Harvard School of Public Health

Four UNE faculty members attended a workshop held at the Harvard School of Public Health August 18-20.  

The workshop, entitled, "Measurement, Design and Analysis for Health Outcomes Research," covered a broad range of topics, such as outlining the role of epidemiology, health economics, psychometrics and biostatistics in conducting outcomes research. 

Activities also addressed the different types of measures used in outcomes research, including clinical, health status, quality of life, work/role and health care utilization, and patient satisfaction. In addition, participants learned about innovative and complex measurement and statistical techniques such as conducting longitudinal and economic analyses.

The UNE group included: Michael Sheldon, Ph.D., P.T., program director and associate professor of physical therapy; Ron Deprez,  Ph.D., M.P.H., director of research programs, School of Community and Population Health; Allison Morrill, JD, Ph.D., associate research professor in the SCPH; and Rebecca Boulos, Ph.D., M.P.H., assistant clinical professor in the SCPH.
