MMEL student Deb Bynum to be published in Clinical Teacher

A manuscript written by Deb Bynum,  M.D., Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership (MMEL) '15, titled "Teaching Students the Art of the Write Up", was accepted for publication in Clinical Teacher.

Bynum completed this manuscript as part of her MMEL independent study course work. It was based on her work with students at UNC-Chapel Hill College of Medicine. She presented the topic at the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM) Division of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine conference in fall 2014. 

Through her independent study, she also completed 鈥淭he Writer鈥檚 Workshop: Teaching preclinical medical students the art of the patient write-up鈥 that was peer reviewed and published on .

As Associate Professor at UNC-CH, Bynum takes on multiple leadership roles in medical education including program director of the IM Geriatric Fellowship, course director for AHEC Acting Internship Selective and co-director for ICM and Transition Clerkships. She also serves as director of the Acute Care of the Elderly In-Patient Service.
