Megan Grumbling to be artist in residence in Alaskan mountains

Megan Grumbling, M.A., developmental writing specialist in the Student Academic Success Center, has been awarded a juried summer writing residency in McCarthy, Alaska.

For two weeks, Grumbling will be an artist in residence at the Wrangell Mountains Center, a private nonprofit institute, which fosters understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of wildlands and mountain culture in Alaska through scientific and artistic inquiry in the Wrangell Mountains. She will be working on a new poetry manuscript called Persephone in the Late Anthropocene, which re-imagines the goddess in the era of climate change.  Grumbling will also engage with the local community by leading a talk and writing workshop.
