Maryfrances S. Smith and Sarah Dubay speak at National AHEC Organization conference

Maryfrances S. Smith, program manager for the Office of the Maine Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Network in UNE鈥檚 School of Community and Population Health, and Sarah Dubay, director of the Eastern Maine AHEC, participated in a panel on interprofessional clinical rotations at the National AHEC Organization鈥檚 Fall Policy Days in Washington, D.C. on December 3, 2014.

The audience included 100 AHEC Directors from across the country who sought practical hands-on knowledge about developing interprofessional rotations.

Both Smith and Dubay also met with Maine Congress delegates including Senator Angus King, and staff from the offices of Senator Susan Collins and Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, to discuss the role of the Maine AHEC Network in ensuring Mainers have access to health providers in rural and underserved areas.
