‘Kennebunk Post’ reports on Polar Plunge fundraiser for class research trip to Iceland

The May 2, 2014 issue of The Kennebunk Post reported on the April 1st “Polar Plunge” by Applied Exercise Science students to raise funds for a class research trip to Iceland.

Students, along with Lara Carlson, Ph.D., FACSM, CSCS, assistant professor in the Department of Applied Exercise Science, and UNE preceptor Christopher Toth, D.P.M, jumped into the ocean as a fundraiser for the trip during which they will study the correlation between immunological responses and extreme cold exposure during physical activity.

The group leaves for their week-long excursion on May 10th.
