David Livingstone Smith to serve as guest on ‘Philosophy Talk’ radio program

David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, will serve as a guest on an upcoming episode of the California KALW radio program "Philosophy Talk," which will air on December 21, 2014.

In the episode, titled "Humanity Violated," Smith, author of Less Than Human: Why We Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate Others, will discuss how the human tendency to dehumanize others has led to atrocities such as the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, and the slave trade and has made possible such widespread problems as racism, sexism.
