Brian Duff quoted in article about Maine gubernatorial race

Brian Duff, Ph.D., UNE associate professor of political science, was quoted in a recent story about the Maine gubernatorial race.

In the article, which explained that Republican Governor Paul LePage is in a statistical dead heat with Democratic challenger Mike Michaud, Duff states, 鈥淸Michaud] is bringing a lot of energy to this race, a lot of money and support. He鈥檚 a very strong candidate.鈥

Duff goes on to say, however, that that independent candidate Eliot Cutler possesses too much money and debating acumen to be counted out. 鈥淗e may be self-financed, but he鈥檚 got deep pockets,鈥 Duff said. 鈥淚 think people are crazy to think things can鈥檛 shift between now and election day.鈥
