Doug Lynch quoted in Kennebec Journal story on proficiency-based education

Douglas Lynch, Ph.D., professor and chair of the UNE Department of Education, was quoted in a March 26, 2012 Kennebec Journal story on the effectiveness of proficiency-based education and the challenges facing the movement.

Lynch said he and his colleagues are already training future teachers in the proficiency-based approach. He hopes to develop graduate-level courses for teachers already in the field. "Quite honestly, this is the most effective educational reform that I'm aware of in my entire 40 years of being an educator."
