Senior News features Marilyn Gugliucci's Learning by Living program

In the November/December 2011 edition of "Senior News," the Southern Maine Agency on Aging featured Marilyn Gugliucci. Ph.D., director of geriatric research at UNE, in an article, "Young Architect Lives at the Veterans' Home for a Week."

The story detailed the experience of 29-year-old Portland architect Evan Carroll, who was the first non-medical individual to participate in the"Learning by Living" nursing home immersion program designed by Gugliucci.  Carroll aimed to acquire a better understanding of the lives and needs of nursing home residents, so he can integrate that knowledge as an architect designing buildings that work with people as they age.

Gugliucci is also a board member of the Southern Maine Agency on Aging.
