Lara Carlson profiled in the Journal Tribune

Lara Carlson, Ph.D., assistant professor of applied exercise science, was profiled in the Dec. 9, 2011 Journal Tribune (Biddeford). Carlson was recently the recipient of the new England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine's 2011 Honor Award. 

The profile discusses her background and her research in ways that exercise can reduce systemic inflammation, which is associated with chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes. Carlson also serves on the ACSM Motorsports Safety Committee and has been doing research on how thermoregulation may improve NASCAR drivers' performances.
