David Smith presents papers, lectures in Vermont, Utah and Mexico

On Oct. 21, 2011, David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., associate professor of philosophy and religious studies, presented a paper entitled "Self-Deception and Self-Misleading" at the annual meeting of the Northern New England Philosophical Association in Colchester, Vermont. 

On Oct. 24th Smith delivered a lecture in the "Distinguished Liberal Arts" series at Quinsigamond Community College. It was entitled "Less than Human" and dealt with the topic of his most recent book.

On Nov. 3rd, Smith will give the keynote address at the 7th annual symposium on restorative justice and the death penalty at .

On Nov. 11th  Smith will be giving a presentation on "Dehumanization" at , in Puebla, Mexico, and he will also join Michael Shermer and Robert Kurzban in a debate on the question "Does life Have a purpose?" The opposing team will consist of Rabbi David Wolpe, Dinesh D'Souza, and Amir Aczel.
