Teresa Dzieweczynski publishes article in the peer-reviewed journal Behavioural Processes

Teresa Dzieweczynski, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, recently published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Behavioural Processes. The article, "The effects of stimulus type on consistency of responses to conflicting stimuli in Siamese fighting fish," had a student co-author, Alison Leopard (PBO and MAR '10). This study builds on Dr. Dzieweczynski's continuing research on the mechanisms and consequences of individual differences in behavior in fish. The study confirmed that male Siamese fighting fish use consistent strategies when faced with a decision between courting and fighting, even when feedback from conspecifics is present. This work is among the first explorations of how males respond to this conflict in fishes.
