Ali Ahmida discusses Islam at Maine Chapter of the Association for Intelligence Officers

Ali Abdullatif Ahmida, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, presented a lecture at the Maine Chapter of the Association for Intelligence Officers (AFIO) at the Community Center in Kennebunkport on Nov. 20, 2010. Ahmida spoke on what it means to be a practicing Muslim, the significance of the Quran, and the practice of Shari'a law. Ahmida is the author of The Making of Modern Libya: State Formation, Colonization and Resistance and is the Ludcke Chair of Liberal Arts and Sciences for 2010-11.
