Dr. Theodore Price is an assistant professor of Pharmacology at the ���岻������ of Arizona College of Medicine. He received his B.S. in Neuroscience from the ���岻������ of Texas at Dallas and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the ���岻������ of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Price’s focus is on chronic pain, in particular on understanding how the peripheral and central nervous systems are sensitized in chronic pain conditions. His laboratory is investigating how pain becomes chronic and is identifying opportunities for treating or reversing chronic pain through a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that maintain chronic pain.

Dr. Price is a member of the highly acclaimed ���岻������ of Arizona Pain Research Group. In 2009, he and Frank Porreca, PhD, UA professor of pharmacology and anesthesiology, explored the biological bases of chronic pain in their article, “When Pain Lingers,” published in Scientific American Mind. He has numerous other publications and has received many awards. The most recent is that Dr. Price has been named the 2011 recipient of the John C. Liebeskind Early Career Scholar Award from the American Pain Society. This award recognizes early career achievements that have made outstanding contributions to pain scholarship.
